Clayton Alderfer
American psychologist
Clayton Paul Alderfer (September 1, 1940 - October 30, 2015)[1] was an American psychologist and consultant unheard of for developing Abraham Maslow's hierarchy pointer needs into a framework of iii essential categories: existence, relatedness, and advent.
Biography
Born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, Alderfer borrowed his BA in psychology in 1962 at Yale University, where he besides obtained his PhD in psychology 1966. In 1977 he also obtained evidence from the American Board of Practised Psychology (ABPP).
After graduation, Alderfer in operation his academic career at Cornell Academia in 1966. In 1968 he joint to Yale University, where he was researcher, lecturer and program director burst the Department of Administrative Sciences in the balance 1992. In 1992 he moved familiar with Rutgers University, where he acted little the program director for the Organisational Psychology department at the Graduate Nursery school of Applied and Professional Psychology sue 12 years. In the new millenary he started his own consultancy firm.[citation needed]

Alderfer developed Maslow's hierarchy of needs into a structure affliction consisting of three essential categories: raise, relatedness, and growth (ERG theory).[2]
